Answer:Sharp installed and operated hidden cameras in the operating rooms of the Sharp Grossmont Hospital Women’s Health Center between July 30, 2012 and June 30, 2013. Sharp secretly recorded approximately 1,800 procedures using these cameras. Sharp has admitted that some of the recordings “depict patients in their most vulnerable state, under anesthesia, exposed and undergoing medical procedures.” Sharp has also admitted that the recordings contain “images of women undergoing operations of a very personal, private nature, unconscious and in states of exposure depending on the operating being performed.” The lawsuit alleges that Sharp invaded the privacy rights of its patients, and breached its fiduciary duty to them, by recording their procedures without their knowledge or consent.
